Even after 44 blog posts, I still feel as if Camellia’s Cottage is just beginning- still a ‘work in progress’ called- blogging. Camellia’s Cottage is an effort to highlight life in my sweet southern home in Alabama. Instead of keeping a journal, telling funny stories, recording my favorite family recipes or pastimes – for some reason known only to God- I decided to learn how to write a blog. Hopefully, Camellia’s Cottage- will inspire and entertain readers. If I can ever figure out how to save this body of work- perhaps it will be a record for the next generation. In the meantime, it sure is fun!
Now, if you see that little sign up box- I hope you will sign up! Or if you see something you especially like- hit that little ‘like’ button I just enabled a few weeks ago. And this is foreign to me, because I never thought I would ask anyone to be a ‘follower’ – but there is a little ‘follow’ button somewhere on this page- if you do that you will be notified when I share a new post. Please comment or make suggestions- I like for folks to speak their minds! I’m grateful you stopped by our little virtual cottage.
Here is Camellia’s Cottage promise to you- we will never ask for your age, your height or your shoe size. We will never share your information with anyone else. We will not ask where you got those chigger bites, we will not ask who colors your hair or why you started dyeing it in the first place. We will not ask if your weight is the same as listed on your driver’s license, we are not interested in your dress size or even where you got that dress. We will never ask how late you were getting home last night or what you were thinking when you wore that outfit. We will remind you that any scandal is a 9 day wonder- if you get out there and get yourself talked about. Bless your heart, just remember in 9 days they will be talking about someone else!
There’s always something going on around here, the cottage is a work in progress. I’ll always be happy you stopped by. I will be glad to see you- no matter how long it’s been. And you can count on this- there will always be something fit to eat, a place for you to stay and the welcome mat will be out. We’ll leave the light on.
Love y’all, Camellia
